Droideka - into the void
Droideka is a digital fashion editorial - a transformative ode to the zeitgeist, collectively created by Jack Hoye, Shira David, and Nakhyia Abrams. We are enduring unprecedented transformations as a society, latching ourselves to technology in attempts to emulate a sense of ”normalcy.” The longing for what was and the hope to resolve our future has left humanity in a void; a space that is indescribable and unattached to one entity alone.
We reimagined traditional means of using the digital application CLO, a software that simulates 2D patterns into sewn 3D garments. Using CLO we designed avatars resembling that of cyborgs, creating all garments through the application. As for our digital environments, they are an amalgamation of distorted images rooted in reality and 2D renderings created using Adobe Softwares.
Droideka is a figure that could be anyone, as they experience representational voids, from the emotions of their designers.

We are in a time where reality and digital interfaces are tangling like wires. There is a constant longing for normalcy and we bend technology to our liking.
Droideka is an Idea created for a virtual reality editorial and using a humanoid figure to express a rebirth of a new future to look out for. In this Project, Droideka will experience different rooms that express a representational void.
